One of our AOR clients recently needed to stage an auction to reduce its inventory. A single postcard was developed and mailed to their approximately 4,000 name distribution list. The response was overwhelming, with over 500 attending the auction that was less than three weeks out from the mailing. Almost every item up for auction sold, and generated several million dollars for our client. While a straight media announcement might have certainly generated auction interest, targeting their best customers with a direct invitation to attend delivered the highest ROI possible.
